English Language Challenges

English is a language that we all should speak, is a universal language and learning it opens a million of doors to many opportunities in life specially for your future job.

I have been learning english since I was a litle girl. My brothers used to speak to me in english when I was a little girl and that helped me a lot.

Now I´m in english 4 at university and it has been a really different experience. The using of blogs has been a challenge for me because I am not used to write in english specially blogs, which is not that easy because you have to order all your ideas and try to explain yourself as good as you can so people can understand what you are writing.

I think my english is really good and I practice it a lot with some friends and with my sister and with some family members that are from the United States.

Also, I am constantly watching movies and series like Greys Anatomy or Game of Trhone in english which I understand almost everything.

I think my writing is the worst area of my english but these semester I have practiced a lot because of the blogs we have to write about different topics so I think I have improved a lot.

I think english is already a part of my life and I want to keep learning it for the rest of my life because we never stop learning new things.

Changes To My Study Programme

I think I'm in a very low year to think about any subject that should change since I'm still in the common plan. However, I think it would be a very good change that when the tests called "A" begin, controls or homeworks that make the student's time complex are not allowed. During the "Pre" and "Exams" dates this happens and the performance of each student is much better.

As for the facilities of the faculty there is much to talk about, this due to the poor distribution of the spaces and the quality of them. There is no special space for the lunch schedule so the resting place is mixed with the lunch place and at the same time with the place of study. This last point leads to another problem, the fact that the library is very small and is very poorly distributed where there are very big tables that give rise to much noise and the space to sit alone are chairs where writing is uncomfortable and They do not have a table of good height. There are the study rooms in the building in front of the faculty, which fulfill their purpose of study and which are individual and have a good signal from the internet and nearby plugs but are very few and based on a study made by some students of the faculty, this account with only 30% of utensils for students, that is, 70% of students eat and study standing.

This year, in particular, a new building is being built where space will be made equal to the "rest" that we already have and that will again be a mix of purposes since it will not have a defined function.

Summer Holidays

Every year with my parents we go to the south, around Temuco. Many years ago my parents bought a lot of land in the town of Curacautín, over the years they built cabins for vacation and for my brothers who were married. Every summer we went there, at first only my parents and my brothers, then I went with their girlfriends, over the years my first brother married and we went with my very little niece. Then my other brother married and so the family was enlarged a little and today and we go to my brothers, their wives and my four nephews, my sister and my family. Today they use them to rent and we have a large cabin for the whole family to go to.

I would love to know Europe and specific places that are historical landmarks of the world. See the wonders that exist in each place and be able to get to know their cultures and customs, that we can also become as equal. Like a dream but more than vacations I would love to go to poor countries where you can make a workforce, where you have to help build or care for children.

I love traveling with my daughter and my husband, but when she is older and she can remember all the places we visited. I would also love to go with my family to visit all these places.

Addiction: From Tea and Coffee to Drugs of Addiction

Well, personally this is a topic that I do not know so much because I have never consumed a drug, either as a pill, as a cigar or some other form of consumption.

Now with respect to a common drug that has not been named as "drug" by the Ministry of Health but in my opinion if it is, it is caffeine, which is found in the "cola" drink, in the Coffee, energy drinks, chocolate and other things. I do not think it is bad, although it is addictive but the damage that it generates in the human being, although they are alert, it takes away sleep, reactivates neurons, it does not produce hallucinations, there is no loss of consciousness compared to other drugs more powerful. The problem is the dependence that caffeine generates, since it causes the human body to have the need to take caffeine in some form at least once a day. The process for a detoxification occurs in three days without consuming a single glass of any format of caffeine in which there is a migraine and extreme tiredness for the individual and then it must not be consumed for at least two to three weeks in which the The individual will prepare his body so that he does not "need" caffeine and can feel energy and have a good night's sleep without needing a cup of coffee or energy.

Post Graduate Studies

Personally I would like to follow a postgraduate degree in the Science of food. It is about the technological development of food, implementing new techniques and new projects at the laboratory level. When I think about continuing to study, this field of work attracts my attention because what I like the most in my career is the laboratories and with this I could learn about the latest laboratory techniques. This magister has a duration of three semesters at the University of Chile, however, I would like to travel abroad to continue my study. The fact that I have a daughter with me makes it harder to go abroad to study, however I do not give up the dream of living in another country or at least years to finish my studies, obviously with my daughter in another country.

Thinking that I would go alone with my daughter and my husband to another country and I would like to continue studying, what could be some program that leaves the media tomorrow or the media later to be taking care of my daughter after school or working midday.

If I do not have the opportunity to travel abroad and do a graduate degree here in Chile, I would like to have access to media or means to spend more time with my family.

Your New Job

Well, now I´m studing food engineering. When I think in my future job I can imagine like a woman of laboratory or a businesswoman. Now when I study like do laboratory and study why happens the reacctions, but be a businesswoman will be something more dificult but not imposible, and I think that I will start in a laboratory and from that point make my way for my future Company.

I can dream travel to work everywhere, I really like the idea and I think that I can do it but my daugther is firts and that travels don’t will let me see her every day, so for that reason I choose a work in the city of Santiago in a office or something near of home.

When I think in the salary I thing in something big. I don’t want someting Little, I want to pay for all the years of my study and hard work. I worked in Little Jobs and if now I have my college degree I don’t will work for a small salary because I will have a college degree and I will do enforce.

Now I studing the basic career of food engineering and ni my four years I will have the bachelor's degree. But in a future if I can I will like do a post grade or something for have more study. 

Old and New Hobbies

Well, I can say that something to I think is a hobbie for a lot of time is play soccer. I always played when I was a little girl in my church or with my Friends of my house.

I usually played just for fun, never for a championship or something like that. Now I play in the university and go to championship and enjoy a lot every game because I play because I love that cain of sport.

When I was a kid I played a lot with my sister. She have just one year more than my so, sometime was really really fun, but sometime we fought a lot. We played with little toys and we make a good history with the house, cars, accessories that my dad brought us to the fair.

We played to did business of massage in my house to my uncle or aunt. But in that moment she win more because I did the job and she just take the money, but I didn’t realise of that because I was the little sis.

I can imagine a hobbit for my future like road on bike with my family, go to camp to a lake, see movies a Friday night with delicious food or travel for one day to near places.

Our Amazing Human Body: Nervous System

All our body works thanks to the nervous system, the signal came to the brain but who make the action is this system. For me is impressive how just chemical can do all the moves that we want and how this can show what we want and we don't know how. we just think and the action is there just in a few seconds.

We have a nervous system in all our body, this moves everything so even the more small part we have a lot of nervous.

The most common nervous disorders are parkinson's disease, alzheimer, apilepsy and other. Everyone affect different part of the body because the nervous system is in all the body.

Talking about the risk factors for the nervous system we can talk about the depression and we can see when our hands are shaking, dizziness, involuntary facial movement. Another form for take care your body is do exercise always when you can, preferential every day.

Talking about the food, if you want take care your system you need avoid the sugar in your food or your drinks. You need eat green vegetables, milk, nuts, honey, fish and fresh food.

The Best Holidays

My parent's have a field in the south of Chile, where we always went for holidays. I remember a lot of vacation really really good where we get fun and we always whent we a couple friends. 

Last year we went to the beach with two friends and my husband, we went in two motorbike with skow suit for the cold of the nigth. We get out of Santiago like 4 am of the dawn, and we get arrive like 7 or 8 am of the dawn, I don't remember exactly. 

Was a trip really longer and cold but really fun, we love the motorbike so was really fun. We went to Horcón Beach near of Valparaiso city, we delay a lot because we need to stop for a cafe or something hot for our bodys and get rest the legs, was a discomfort posicion but we like so we was happy for our adventure.

I can say that was the best holidays because was a dreams that we want to long time.

A Country You Would Like To Visit

For my part I will love travel for the world but I don't know about the wonders to have each one of them, my brother travel a lot for the world because his wife worked in "LAN" for a time, so they can travel for a lowest price, and that make more easy, I think that if I want to travel for one place I can ask to him for know more.
I always want to Brazil for know the beaches because I hear that are wonderful but I know that just the part to is for touristic is pretty because the other part are dangerous.

I want know Argentina because I know that the meet is really good there and the restaurant are really good, I don't know a lot about the country or if is good for job or study but I love my country so I din't like to much the idea of live in other country.

Plannes for Holidays

Sleep…

Well and obviously to be able to go for a walk, to take advantage of my daughter, to play with her, to take her to places where there are fun games, to play with her.

I also like to leave Santiago, my parents have a field near the region of Temuco, for there we go every summer, my daughter loves and I understand, I also loved to go when girl, have horses, cows, Hens and sheep, it is like a family farm, it is a lot of fun and we have many cabins to go all the family and friends.

Also a possible scenario for this vacation is to go to the beach, my daughter's great-grandparents have a house near Viña del Mar. It is very nice to go to vacation there and eat a lot of delicious food.

The great thing about this semester is that possibly I have exempted myself from all my branches, so I would have two weeks more vacations, that is, one month of winter vacations, which would be very cool for me.

My plans to go on vacation would be after the fortnight of July to be able to go south with my parents and my sister, since for the first time the faculty of my sister, the University of Chile in the law school, did not have student mobilizations undefined so we have the same weeks of vacation.

A subject you've enjoyed atudying this semester

This semester I have had very few subject since last semester was difficult for me in every field so this semester I am more calm.

The subject I have enjoyed has been a chemistry lab, I found it very interesting and demanding, each laboratory has its evaluation and are different from each other.

I like it a lot because I can put into practice everything I learn in General Chemistry 2 and do it and see for myself, learning also the laboratory errors and being able to know the work area of a food engineer who wants to work in a chemical laboratory, Either with the creation of new foods, improvements to those that already exist, lengthen their life time and many more things that can work food.

Another thing I find very interesting about this subject is that it goes to the same rhythm as General Chemistry 2 and in my personal opinion I think it is very good because in a class you learn the theoretical and the calculations calm and with time, while in the laboratory you put in practice under pressure.

A career related website that you enjoy visiting or an expert on your field.

The truth is that I haven not visited many websites with respect to food engineering or some page with the subject of intelligent foods that is what is being developed more today.

Inside the page of the university, in the area of news, is a web page that I like to review and read complete, where it talks about the innovations made by students or teachers.

An article that caught a lot my attention was about “Expoferia”, which explains a little the processes that created these intelligent and innovative food unsold and organic. Being also that the attendee to the Expoferia draws much more my attention the fact to know more about the processes, to test the product and the ideas that they have, also a litle view to my future, becuause I hope to participate actively of the Expoferia in my fifth year.

Now as I write this blog I realize that I should be much more interiorized in the new projects about my career. I have heard a lot about very innovative products that are being brought to market and also many bills like the labels of the food that is sold in the schools or the projects of a healthy diet.

My Hobbies

Well… Maybe you listened a lot of time that my hobbie is the soccer, and it is, I play from 14 years old but never in a team with competitions.

I played with a children of my district or off the church were I go. From this years I am part of the soccer selection of the university and I loved because we have a game each Saturday.

Maybe everyone who love their hobby feel the same of me but when I play I don’t think in nothing, everything else is going away and I believe that I can be my self, no pretensions or still thinking in all the responsability to I have.

Well, I like play soccer but I like all the sport, if I can play voleyball I do.

Now I play soccer Tuesday and wednesday in the university and the game of Saturday, and tusday I play voleyball in the faculty.

I love play sport but I like also becuase you do the exercicies that you should in a week for have a healthy life from a fun form

Favourite Musician or Band.

Well… I don’t know if I can say that I have just one Favourite musician, but between the best that I considerer is Colbie Caillat, a singer of the genre of pop.

The disc that I like more is calls “The Malibu Sessions”, which get to the market in 2006. I think that is a music relaxed and you can enjoy all the instrument that have the song, I think like that because personally I hate the music like rock when they just scream and you can’t understand what they said. But is a personally opinion.

Other artists that I like are Bruno Mars, CNCO, Ed Sheeran, One Republic, Phill Collins, and others. I can say that my pleasures is very diverse because I can say that I liked too Ozuna, Maluma, Chino and Nacho, and other who are a different genre.

My favourite piece of technology

Well, I don’t consider how a fanatic of the technology. I used often but just for work or study, make homework or speak with my friends. I can say that my favorite technology is a music player, because I love do everything with music, I think that everything is different with music, that one has a different disposition for do anything.

I can’t remember my first music player but I know that I had a lot, like MP3, an iPod, an iPad and other types of music player.  I used in the bus for go home or came to the university, in my house for dance with my daughter, do exercises in the gym, when I have to clean the house or math exercises.

If I thinking I can live without music but will be more boring, like when I forget my headphone and the travel on bus is really longer and bored.

Now I have an iPod nano and I loved because is small, good, have a lot of battery and I can used for everything. I let you a picture.

Why did I choose this career?

Well, I suppose that I’m not the only one to think in a lot of career when was a child. For my head pass be garden teacher, nurse, veterinarian and other things. A years after I started to think in a career for my life and I was in love of the serie “Dr. House” so you are right if you think that I wanted be a doctor. That was my first option for the university but my points wasn’t enough for a good university so I looking for other options. I started to speak with the friend of my brothers because they are much older than me, and one friend talk to me about the career of food engineering. I found very interesting and different. I like that don’t be so known because I think that you have more space where you can work, less competition.

When I begin the university I tough that wasn’t so hard but is difficult for me, I fail in Chemestry I, Biology and mathematics II. I have a good relation with my classmates and teachers. If you ask me for my dream job is have my owm company or work for a big company, and obvious be the boss of that company.

My Autobibliography

Hi, my name is Margarita Lagos Hartard.

I was born in Octuber 24 of 1996 in Santiago of Chile in the hospital of name “Catolica” in the Florida district. I know to mi mom have all his children there.

I have two brothers and one sister. My big brother call Andres, he have 36 years old, he get marry when he has 25 years old and now he have two children, a daughter of 10 years old and a son of 8 years old. Now he is an important engineer in his job. My second brother calls Sebastian, he have 35 years old and he get marry when he has 25 years old to. Now he have two children, a daughter of 8 years old and a son of 5 years old. Now he is a important engineer of  Falabella business. And finally my only sister, Michaela, she now is studying laws in the faculty of University of Chile.

I studied in three schools. The firth was call “Siglo XXI” and there I learned play clarinet, swimming, Gymnastics and Hamboll, when I was in 8 grade I change of school for the “playground school” where for me was the best school but very strict. For me that was the school where I learned more for the university. I wanted to do after an exchange students but this school don’t let me so I change in 12 grade to another school call “Antilhue”. In October I have my trip for Unites states for a year, or that was the plan, but I didn’t know that I was pregnancy so in December I come back to Chile. After that I studied for the PSU.

Know I'm studying engineering in food in the University of Chile, I’m in the soccer selection, my daughter have 2 years old and I live with my parents and my sister.
